And while its been months since MJ’s untimely passing, it seems as though he is more popular than ever.

The film grossed 20.7 million over Halloween weekend, but numbers were lower than what Sony anticipated. However, the film still took the number one spot.

In addition, the two week screening of the movie has been extended to Thanksgiving weekend.

The Chairman of Sony Pictures, Jeff Blake, states,

“In just 5 days, Michael Jackson’s THIS IS IT has become the highest grossing concert film of all time and we are elated by the response to this special film by fans, critics and moviegoers from all over the world. With this kind of global response, it’s clear that the motion picture deserves an extended run and we are going to do everything we can to make the film available to everyone who wants to see Michael Jackson’s THIS IS IT on the big screen.”

This news is music to MJ fans ears….

The longest-running children’s program on US television, Sesame Street, celebrates its 40th anniversary next week and the tributes to this influential kids’ show have begun to spring up.  Just today, Google.com altered its logo to include a pair of orange legs with yellow feathers where the “L” usually is.  Yep, it’s Big Bird’s bottom half on the search engine’s homepage and we can’t wait to see what other websites and Sesame Street fans have in store to celebrate the benchmark.  The actual anniversary will be on November 10th, so there’s still enough time to pick up a costume of Ernie, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, or Kermit the Frog and relive four decades of fun, eductional lessons from public television.  Dressing as your favorite Sesame Street character is a great way to honor a show that has helped shape many of us through childhood.  Here’s to another 40 years from Big Bird and co.!

We are mere days away from the most colorful, creative and frightfully fun time of the year: Halloween!  But before you send your costumed candy-collectors out into the neighborhood on their annual harvest of sweets, study up on safety and consider the following advice.  Always assemble Halloween costumes with care, using only non-flammable materials, and examine the outfit’s length to make certain no fabric or Accessories are dangling or can get tangled up while traveling from door-to-door.  If a Mask is part of the Halloween disguise, be sure to have adequate visibility through the eye holes and that all noises from nearby cars or people can be clearly heard through ear holes.  When approaching an unfamiliar home on the haunted holiday, only knock or ring the doorbell if a porch light is on and the house appears inviting to dressed-up guests.  Avoid barking dogs and dark yards as you make the rounds, adhere to all traffic rules and stop lights when crossing streets and try to travel in groups of 2 or more, keeping a close eye on each other using the buddy system.  Before sampling the treats that kids have been given, parents should inspect the snacks, making sure all the packages are still factory sealed before the long-awaited ripping, tearing and devouring begins.  A little preparedness and planning is all that’s needed for Halloween to go off without a hitch.  Have a blast, scare yourself (and others) silly, but keep your wits about you because while October 31st may only come once a year, like a zombie hungry for brains, it will return before you know it!

What a generous archenemy/anti-hero?

While Venom appeared in Spider-Man 3,and played by Topher Grace, sources say this film will be produced completely from scratch.  Gary Ross, writer and director of “Seabiscuit“, will be taking on Venom, in addition to working on the script for Spider-Man 4.  Since the deal was just recently made, the film’s release is unknown…

Lets give a recent time line of the latest events that have turned Jon & Kate into an all out freak show:

-Jon announces a halt to the divorce- seeking mediation for Kate and himself…Wants Kate as a friend [Right!!....]

-TLC announces that Jon’s role will be drastically shortened, and the show’s name will be changed to Kate Plus 8.

-Jon halts production of the show: citing concern for his children as reason.  A sign posted outside the Gosselin’s residence prohibits production crews or any TLC staff.

-Jon violates an agreement which is part of their divorce proceedings and withdraws $230,000 from a joint account with Kate….But wait, hes not a complete clown- he left her $1,000! [LOSER!]

Things are looking to turn into a complete circus between the two…But Kate continues to remain classy, and hopefully the children won’t continue to be affected…

Whatever happens, we will be sure to watch…

Unfortunately, Halloween 3 ( 3-D!) featuring the [pretty much immortal] Mike Myers, will not be in theaters in time for this year’s celebration….actually not even until late next year!

The delay for production has been in effect for about a month and is set to be extended.  Sources say that the project was halted because Director Patrick Lussie is also involved in another film.  The original January 2010 release is looking more like Fall 2010…

Just in time for Halloween season? We certainly hope so…

Great news movie fans!

It has just been announced that POC has finally been slated with a title and estimated release date. The 4th installment will be: Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and will be released Summer 2011.  Production is set to begin soon and  although details of the plot have been very limited, it has been stated that this film will be an all Jack Sparrow feature!

Hot topic of the week: World Hunger? War? Global Warming?……….Of course not..

It’s Kanye West…and he is up to his usual antics once again!

So apparently Mr. West was spotted all over the VMA’s carrying and indulging in what appears to be a life size bottle of Hennessey.  Seemingly under control, several photographs of him and girlfriend Amber Rose were photographed through out the night.

Fast forward to Best Female Video of the Year: The nominees included a stellar roster of superstars: Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift….

And yes to much of our surprise, the newbie Taylor Swift took the Moonman, which actually was her first ever…

Almost brings tears to our eyes…but then on live television, the big bad wolf, Kanye West mumbles some drunken gibberish on how Beyonce’s video was the best…ever…

When all was said and done…Taylor Swift stood on stage silenced, as if she was in the nude in front of a large audience….Poor girl, our hearts really do go out to her…

Now we are sure Kanye has felt bad from all the media scrutiny and celebrity commentary…but a statement from Obama …?

Well fans, Toy Story 3 is on its way….and surrounding all the excitement are some inside details that have been released.

So here it goes…

*Timothy Dalton is added to the toy studded line up: he will play Mr. Pricklepants: “a hedgehog toy with thespian tendencies.”

*Andy: Buzz and Woody’s owner is all grown up and headed to college, which inevitably means no more toys…!

*The toys are donated to a daycare center where they encounter the savagery of raging toddlers..Their mission is to escape and find the outside world as well as a new owner…

The plot thickens and there are several other adventures the characters face…but since the trailer will be out soon, we won’t spoil the film anymore!

Recently, the plot above Marilyn Monroe’s resting place opened up.  81 yr. old Richard Poncher was buried there 23 yrs ago and his widow had decided to move his remains and sell the highly coveted plot.

Elsie Poncher honestly revealed that she was doing so in order to pay off a Beverly Hills mortgage.

It had been stated that Poncher had purchased the crypt from the late baseball great, Joe DiMaggio during his divorce from the bombshell.

Within days of the plot being put up on eBay, an unidentified buyer purchased his ticket to spend eternity with Marilyn Monroe for a cool $4.6 million dollars.

Clearly, he has a thing for blondes….

After several competitions, the panelists announced the winner…and it was none other than Stefania Fernandez, Miss Venezuela.

This victory marks a second consecutive win for Venezuela, as Dayana Mendoza claimed the 2008 title.

And what would a Miss Universe pageant be without some sort of disaster….this of course is excluding Heidi Montag’s performance!

While Dayana Mendoza crowned the new Miss Universe, she dropped the crown…forcing producers to cut away from the emotional moment.

But nevertheless, the beauties celebrated proudly a second title for their country.

As winner of the pageant, the 18yr. old Fernandez will receive access to an NYC apartment for a year, as well as living expenses, a two year scholarship to the New York Film Academy, and a vacation to the Bahamas for two….amongst other things.

The runner up was Miss Dominican Republic and will be the title holder in case Miss Venezuela can no longer perform her duties.

Michael Vick has just signed a two year contract with the Philly Eagles.  The first year of the deal is for $1.6 million with an option for the second year at $5.2 million.  He can also earn up to $3million dollars in incentives for the duration of the contract.

The deal might seem as a major downgrade for the former highest paid player in NFL, but given his circumstances this opportunity is a blessing sent from above.

Vick has not played since 2006 and his life came tumbling down after being convicted in August 2007 of conspiracy and running a dog fighting operation, sentenced to 23 months in federal prison and suspended indefinitely by the NFL.

Talk about second chances!

Vick won’t be fully reinstated until about week 6 by the NFL, but is allowed to attend practices and other team related activities.

He comes in under starting QB Donovan McNabb, who led his team to the playoffs last year and ended the year with a 9-6-1 record.

Vick is said to be utilized as another weapon, especially in a variation of the Wildcats offense and his knowledge of West Coast offense.

McNabb was consulted prior to this decision and stated the following,

“I pretty much lobbied to get him here,” McNabb said. “I believe in second chances and what better place to get a second chance than here with this group of guys. … He’s no threat to me, not for Kolb. We had the opportunity to add another weapon to our offense.”

Well Said McNabb!

The movie had received less than favorable reviews from the critics.  But much to their surprise the movie debuted at #1 with an estimated $100 million dollar around the globe. Not too shabby for a movie that will probably receive no critical acclaim.

But in today’s economic climate, does it even matter what the big shots say as long as the $$$ is coming in?

However, it was said that the hype of the film was attributed to the strong fan base that G.I. Joe has and also because of front man Channing Tatum.

Perhaps all good reasons to go watch the movie.  However, critics will be on the lookout for 2nd week sales, especially with “District 9″ opening up this Friday.

We predict that the film will be still be relevant in the upcoming weeks..Funnyordie.com even made a parody of the film, so it must be newsworthy….

Well just in case you were yearning for more action and carnage….good news might be coming your way.

Frank Miller has recently completed a draft of the graphic novel to his first book.  The draft is said to be the foundation to the upcoming Warner Bros.-Legendary Pictures film.  It has been reported that Miller is still putting the final touches on the draft, but in order to get the ball moving, decisions need to be made on the production end.

No screenwriters have been confirmed to take on the task of translating Miller’s version to film, nor have any producers.  However, there have been discussions  (likely to include Gianni Nunnari’s Hollywood Gang, Mark Canton’ Atmosphere and Zack Snyder’s Cruel & Unusual banners) and Kurt Johnstad is speculated to return as co-writer.

Despite all the technical details, the biggest question of all is whether the sequel will actually be a prequel?

Leonidas and many of the main characters were killed off in the first film. Could a 300 part II even be the same without our beloved Spartan leader..?

Probably not..

Well in any case, we know the movie is on the way so stay tuned!

And it is dated to be about 4,500 years old!

Surprisingly, the skeleton was well preserved and was discovered back in May during a routine fly over the area which is of archaeological interest . During the flight, they had spotted a hole in the ground which they presumed to be a tomb, and they presumed correct!  The details have only been revealed now due to a full on excavation of the site.

The skeleton was named “Nello” and was said to be a warrior because an arrow was found in his upper rib area, which prompts the idea that he may have been killed during battle.

Along with the skeleton, there were ceramic jars buried as well as flint arrow heads, suggesting a burial was performed for the warrior.

“Nello” is currently on display at the cultural section’s headquarters in Rome.

Even after Ed fell flat on his face in the passion department in the Fantasy Room prior to Jillian’s decision, and even after leaving the show for a brief stint, her love for him was undeniable.

And if viewers wanted a dramatic ending…..they sure weren’t left empty handed.

After Jillian let Kiptyn down ever so gently, and awaited to deliver the great news to Ed, out steps Reid..the lovable gentleman who was voted off because of his inability to express his feelings for Jill…

I guess his declaration of love was too little, too late. But nevertheless, quite entertaining!

Fast forward to the good stuff, Ed proposes and Jillian accepts. And the story ends happily ever after!

Jillian, a native of Vancouver is set to move to Chicago to be with her fiance and the couple is set to marry within the next year.

The 40th Comic-Con International roared through San Diego over the weekend chock full of panels, screenings, previews and plenty of fan-made costumes from their favorite movies, TV series, video games and (of course) comic books!  Here’s a rundown from USA Today with a few of the highlights attendees witnessed.  Some of the greatest interest was in Tim Burton’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, tenatively due March 5, 2010, while fans also salivated over an extended preview of Iron Man 2 and enjoyed interviews with Twilight star Robert Pattinson while getting hints and clues from the producers of Lost and 24 on what will happen next season.  Take a look at this gallery with costumes worn by some of the most hardcore enthusiasts.  Put together your own animated or action-packed look with one of our disguises and carry the spirit of Comic-Con with you to the next costume party!

This year marked the 4oth anniversary of the convention and amongst all the chatter about the weekend, Iron Man 2 was a hot topic!

Just two years prior, Iron Man had debuted at Comic-Con, and went on to gross nearly 600 million worldwide! And the sequel is set to meet the same goals.  It was said that the Iron Man panel was so highly anticipated that even Marvel execs and studio guests were unable to get in.

Production of the film concluded just a week and a half ago, but the director brought 5 minutes of footage to feed the appetites of the masses. The preview shows Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) working alone at the outset of the sequel. He declines another offer to join forces with the group of heroes being assembled by Nick Fury(Samuel Jackson) and is being ordered by the government to turn in his super-powered suit, which has been deemed too dangerous a weapon.

The preview also introduced a new roster of characters to join the Iron Man phenomenon:

Garry Chandling as the senator demanding Stark’s suit,

Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes (War Machine),

Mickey Rourke as bad guy Ivan Vanko (Whiplash), and

Sam Rockwell as arms merchant Justin Hammer.

There are many star studded performers in this film, and if the reaction of fans from Comic-Con is any indication of how the film will do, I say pretty damn good!

WoW is a multi player online game which has received a huge following since 2004.  “World of Warcraft” holds the Guinness World Record as the most popular massively multi player online game with more than 11.5 million monthly subscribers , in addition to launching a profitable range of licensed products.

Blizzard Entertainment and Legendary Pictures have both expressed their excitement and confidence in their choice of Raimi as director. Raimi’s most recent film was “Drag Me to Hell” which received favorable feedback.

Raimi also expressed his excitement to on taking on the film.  He states, “At its core, Warcraft is a fantastic, action-packed story,” said Raimi in the statement. “I am thrilled to work with such a dynamite production team to bring this project to the big screen.”

Well good news is upon us all….

David Arquette and Courtney Cox are confirmed for production of Scream 4!

There had been rumors for the past several months that the 4th installment would be made into a reality.  However, it was not confirmed until E! had received a statement from Arquette.

E! online spoke with Arquette and he stated, ” “We are going to be doing Scream 4,” “Kevin Williamson is writing the script at this moment, and hopefully Wes Craven is going to direct.”

The first installment of Scream was released back in 1996 where Arquette played Deputy Dewey Riley and Cox as a tabloid television reporter Gale Weathers…

The duo actually became very acquainted with one another during the filming and as we all know have been happily married ever since.

David joyously expressed, “I fell in love with my wife on Scream, so the opportunity to bring [Dewey] back to life and for my wife to play that really bitchy character again, it’s just going to be really fun,” Arquette said. “It’s just great.”

How adorable!

Well, we hope this time around we are in for a real nail biter…

So will Neve Campbell join the original cast?

Sources say that Kevin Williamson stated that she has turned down the role, but Arquette is hoping otherwise…

Guess we will just have to wait and see..

It had been speculated for weeks that those in the running for the role were Alias co-star Bradley Cooper and Justin Timberlake.

I mean we love your music Justin..but honestly we rather see you dancing it up then actually taking on such a coveted role. As for Bradley Cooper, The Hangover was awesome, but Ryan already has super hero credentials with a role in Deadpool under his belt.  Reynolds has also been in negotiations for a sequel to Deadpool, in addition to a possible role as The Flash.

Talk about super hero qualities!

For those of you who may not be familiar with the Green Lantern comics, here is a little rundown.

The Green Lantern is part of an exclusive peacekeeping force. Each member of the corps is equipped with a power ring that manifests the bearer’s willpower as tangible forms of energy.

Reynolds will play Hal Jordan, a fearless test pilot whose bravery makes him the prime candidate to take over when the Green Lantern patrolling Earth’s sector of space is killed.

The film is set for production to begin in January with Martin Campbell (producer of Casino Royale and other Bond’s films) running the show.  There has also been rumors that  Mr. Clark Kent aka Superman himself might make a possible cameo in the movie.  Sources say that Co-writer Marc Guggenheim has neither confirmed nor denied such rumors.

All in all, we expect a great finished product and will be counting down the days until the release.

Talk about complex!!

After his show gets canceled due to a backstage altercation and basically gets blacklisted from his country, Bruno decides to venture to LA to pursue his dream of fame and fortune. While the formula for the film seems to be extracted from Borat, by trading commentary on anti-semitism for homophobia, the film does accomplish its goal of being over the top and funny at the same time.

The movie also has much to say about American pop culture.  Bruno adopts an African baby which he acquires directly from Africa in exchange for an iPod and brings him on the Today with Richard Bay show, .  This scene attempts to take swipes at the Hollywood baby phenomenon, in particular to Angelina Jolie and Madonna.  The film is also highly sexual in its content and definitely goes the extra mile to produce the WOW factor that all the Bruno hype has led us to.

It is agreed upon that Bruno isn’t as up to par as Borat…I mean that movie was one of a kind.

However, if you are looking for a comedy that will have you laughing by any means necessary, Bruno is definitely the film for you.

MJ was known for his theatrical performances and his killer dance moves.  Therefore, it was only appropriate that MJ’s memorial was filled with star studded tribute performances, touching words from his family, and support from fans across the world.

The memorial was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles with a packed audience of 17,500; not to mention the thousands of fans that waited outside the arena and an estimated several hundred million viewers from across the globe.

Several performances were held in his honor from Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, John Mayer, and Usher.  Sources say Mariah Carey’s performance wasn’t up to her usual standards due to her sentiments at the moment.  Nevertheless, the tributes were orchestrated beautifully with Usher’s rendition arguably the most touching.  He sang one of MJ’s songs, “Gone to Soon”, which MJ had written in the early 90’s when one of his friends had passed away from HIV.

With all the stars in attendance, performers, and guest speakers, the moment of the memorial which probably brought the world to tears simultaneously was when  MJ’s daughter Paris asked for the microphone.  She went on to say, “”I just wanted to say…ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine…and I just wanted to say I love him so much,”.

….And so does the rest of the world.

The memorial service highlighted Michael Jackson not only for his musical achievements, but also Michael Jackson the man.

And as his legend will continue to live on…the world will continue to celebrate his life and music.

The game takes characters on a journey through the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.  The game’s highly accurate re-creation allows players to master and utilize their spell casting abilities.  Players are able to maneuver through Astronomy Tower, Professor Slughorn’s Potions Classroom, the Gryffindor Common Room, and the Great Hall.

The Nintendo Wii offers the best version due to the heightened interactiveness between player and game.  The Wii controller acts as a wand allowing players to easily carry out moves while navigating at the same time.

Fox Mobile Entertainment has launched its first ever commercial application for the iPhone: The ‘Freakin’ Sweet Family Guy app!

This program can be used on the iPhone and iPod Touch.The application will include up to 20 show clips, as well as the ability for users to build their own video mix.

Users can also  directly purchase full-length ‘Family Guy’ episodes from iTunes.

The app includes four different character-driven video channels for best of Stewie, Brian, Peter, and Chris clips.  In addition, there are other special features available in the application such as the  “Peter Toss”, where Peter Griffin is tossed around a variety of backgrounds which sets off different sounds.

And what would the app be without a special section for the beloved Stewie called “Stewie Pin-Up,” where users can swap body parts to create a unique character.

MJ was rushed to the hospital yesterday afternoon  after a 911 emergency call from his Holmby Hills home. Michael had suffered cardiac arrest and when the paramedics arrived, he was found with no pulse and was unresponsive.  Sources say that Michael was dead already when help arrived.  He was rushed to UCLA Medical center where physicians tried to revive him, but were unsuccessful.

This news came as a complete shock to the world as MJ had just announced a series of 50 concerts in London’s O2 Arena that was scheduled to begin on July 13th. It was said that tickets were sold out completely in under an hour.

Michael is survived by his three children, Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince “Blanket” Michael Jackson II.

While Michael is gone from the physical world, his legacy is sure to surpass the ages.  While most of his career took off way before the digital world we live in today, MJ had the top five album downloads on iTunes store and seven of the top 10 this morning. In addition, in Amazon.com’s CD section, the top 15 sellers were by Michael Jackson or the Jackson 5. And certainly this trend will continue to remain constant.

Despite all of MJ’s allegations and repeated attempts by others to tarnish his reputation, he is the true King of Pop and he will live on through his music.

Today, photos from the set were released and are said to have fans drooling for more. Legendary Producer Tim Burton is famous for films such as Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Charlie in the Chocolate Factory.  With that roster, it is no surprise to us on who is casted as the Mad Hatter, Burton’s all star, Johnny Depp.  Also announced in this star studded lineup is Helena Bonham Carter (Burton’s fiance) as the Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, and Mia Wasikowska as Alice.

The film has been scheduled to be released March 5, 2010.  Many critics have stated that this just might be Burton’s best film ever.  It is filled with vivid scenery, but yet the very same dark edge he is famous for.  I mean, The Red Queen boasts a moat filled up from the results of her famous command,”off with his head!” However, the movie is still children friendly.

Enough said!

Hilton allegedly claimed via twitter that Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas assaulted him…

He tweeted: ” I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.”

Oh My!..Assaulted by Will.I.Am…Really?

So what could possibly be the details surrounding this altercation? I mean Will.I.Am is not exactly notorious for going around beating people up.

It was stated that Fergie approached Hilton at the after party at club Ultra, questioning his harsh criticisms of the group. No details of that conversation have been released, but it was stated that Fergie described Hilton as rude and relayed it back to Will.I.Am. However, it wasn’t until the next after party at club Ultra where Hilton and Will.I.Am exchanged words.  Hilton allegedly called Will.I.Am a f*ggot after he was again questioned on his disdain towards the group.  Hilton also supposedly stated he did not respect him (Will.I.Am) and upon this heated exchange, Perez was assaulted.

But according to TMZ, it was general manager, Polo Molina, of the Black Eyed Peas who was the true assailant. He actually turned himself in to the authorities this morning.

Well, I’m sure we ‘ll be kept posted as the drama unfolds…perhaps Perez Hilton needs a security unit in the mean time so he can safely resume back to his normal blogging activities..
