Sure October is the best month of the year…I mean we celebrate Halloween!

However, October also means game time…or should I say Yankee time?

In recent years, the highly popular Yankees have ended their past seasons in disappointment.  With extensive World Series and Championship records, fans were beginning to wonder if these over-paid players were even motivated to execute?

If that was in question at one point….fans are surely singing another tune this month.

The Yankees are on the super high way to the World Series!!…

First stop was Minnesota where the Bronx Bombers swept the series 3-0.  Tonight, they face the L.A. Angels with whom they already lead 3-1.

Should be a good one as the battle of the coasts continues!

After an uncertain search for a new franchise, Michael Vick has finally secured a contract and a new home!

Good bye Atlanta, Hello Philadelphia!

Michael Vick has just signed a two year contract with the Philly Eagles.  The first year of the deal is for $1.6 million with an option for the second year at $5.2 million.  He can also earn up to $3million dollars in incentives for the duration of the contract.

The deal might seem as a major downgrade for the former highest paid player in NFL, but given his circumstances this opportunity is a blessing sent from above.

Vick has not played since 2006 and his life came tumbling down after being convicted in August 2007 of conspiracy and running a dog fighting operation, sentenced to 23 months in federal prison and suspended indefinitely by the NFL.

Talk about second chances!

Vick won’t be fully reinstated until about week 6 by the NFL, but is allowed to attend practices and other team related activities.

He comes in under starting QB Donovan McNabb, who led his team to the playoffs last year and ended the year with a 9-6-1 record.

Vick is said to be utilized as another weapon, especially in a variation of the Wildcats offense and his knowledge of West Coast offense.

McNabb was consulted prior to this decision and stated the following,

“I pretty much lobbied to get him here,” McNabb said. “I believe in second chances and what better place to get a second chance than here with this group of guys. … He’s no threat to me, not for Kolb. We had the opportunity to add another weapon to our offense.”

Well Said McNabb!

Manchester United’s and World Soccer Player of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo, has just been acquired by rival Real Madrid for a whopping $131 million dollar deal!

Last season, this same deal was proposed but Manchester United clearly had a change of heart this time around, especially since their beloved Portugese star has expressed his desire to leave.

So why now?

It has been speculated that relations were beginning to go awry between Ronaldo and manager Alex Ferguson.  Or perhaps Manchester United’s recent loss to Barcelona in the Champions League finals added just enough fuel to the fire?  Any logical being knows that money talks…and this time it spoke very loud! While we are on the topic of Ronaldo….Let’s talk about his other change in scenery…

Last night, Ronaldo was spotted out with heiress Paris Hilton and it was said the two could not keep their hands off one another.  How ironic!

Less than 24 hours after Hilton parted ways with former beau and Hills’ star Doug Reinhardt, the heiress and soccer superstar were seen at club MyHouse.  Talk about a celebration.

It has been reported that Paris had been on the prowl for Ronaldo for over a year, but the player was clearly not interested at the time.  A lot of changes for the soccer stud and heiress in the past few days. Let’s see how it all works out!
