While May isn’t technically a summer month, it’s widely regarded as the unofficial start to a season of vacations, warm temperatures, blockbuster movies and annual holidays. Let’s begin our rundown of costume options for these activities and events with Cinco de Mayo on May 5. Sombreros, piñatas, tacos and margaritas are surefire ways to celebrate this day honoring Mexican heritage on the anniversary of Mexico’s victory against French forces at the Battle of Puebla. Mother’s Day (May 12) is always a special time spent with family as moms everywhere love to see their kids wearing a favorite character suit and giving a fun disguise as a gift is certainly welcome! Memorial Day weekend is another opportunity to disguise and decorate; we suggest a patriotic theme and red, white and blue motif to your party or parade look. In between these joyous occasions we’ve got some of the hottest big-screen releases of the year including Iron Man 3, The Great Gatsby, Star Trek Into Darkness and The Hangover Part III, to name just a few of the surefire box office hits-to-be. May and June are also eagerly awaited by students for Graduation ceremonies which have their own purple party supplies including balloons, banners, wall hangers and lawn signs. By the time Father’s Day arrives on June 16, the anticipation for summer will be in full swing – you may as well get set for all these exciting happenings as soon as possible so you’re good to go for all the revelry. Make sure to have a ton of fun getting ready for summer with colorful costumes, masks, wigs and plenty of decorations!
