Michael Jackson “Immortalized” by Family, Friends and Fans at Hollywood’s Chinese Theatre

It was a very special day on Hollywood Blvd. for family, friends and the fans worldwide of late superstar Michael Jackson as a ceremony “Immortalized” this unforgettable performer into the cement in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

Billy Bush hosted the event which included heartfelt speeches from Smokey Robinson, Quincy Jones, Chris Tucker, Justin Bieber, Debbie Allen, Harry Shum, Jr. of Glee, Michael’s mother Katherine, his brother Tito and children Prince and Paris.

Songs such as “I’ll Be There” “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’,” “Earth Song,” “Jam” and “They Don’t Care About Us” were performed as a multitude of dancers entertained both the crowd who attended and those watching the simulcast live.

Michael’s daughter Paris wrote his name in the fresh cement and left an impression of his iconic sequin glove while Blanket imprinted his shoes.  Tourists who visit Hollywood in the future will be able to see this on display next to other famous actors, directors and musicians.

We were lucky enough to make it out to the event to take some videos that you can watch on YouTube here:

The ceremony coincided with Cirque du Soleil’s touring production “Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour” appearing at arenas in cities across the United States and soon the entire world.

Once again Michael’s legacy and spirit are acknowledged by those who loved him and knew him best.
