Celebrate 40 Years on Sesame Street

The longest-running children’s program on US television, Sesame Street, celebrates its 40th anniversary next week and the tributes to this influential kids’ show have begun to spring up.  Just today, Google.com altered its logo to include a pair of orange legs with yellow feathers where the “L” usually is.  Yep, it’s Big Bird‘s bottom half on the search engine’s homepage and we can’t wait to see what other websites and Sesame Street fans have in store to celebrate the benchmark.  The actual anniversary will be on November 10th, so there’s still enough time to pick up a costume of Ernie, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, or Kermit the Frog and relive four decades of fun, eductional lessons from public television.  Dressing as your favorite Sesame Street character is a great way to honor a show that has helped shape many of us through childhood.  Here’s to another 40 years from Big Bird and co.!
