It was 82 years ago today that aviator Charles Lindbergh made the first non-stop solo trans-Atlantic flight in his single engine plane the Spirit of St. Louis. Can you imagine what life was like in 1927 when he took this daring trip from New York to Paris? Prohibition was in effect, the Great Depression was two years away, and a famed New York Yankees baseball team dubbed “Murderer’s Row” was on their way to a pennant behind slugger Babe Ruth.
